We would also like to thank Central library for our new books, we are currently reading Jacqueline Wilson's book Butterfly Beach. We can't wait to find out what happens!
In Science year two have been learning all about Habitats. For homework the class were asked to use an old cardboard box to create their own habitat. Children really took on the challenge and worked really hard at to home to create a variety of habitats. We had everything from Artic Tundras to Tropical Rainforests. Our amazing habitats are on display for all to see in the reception area. Well done for all of your hard work!
The Narnia Experience
Year two had a fantastic trip to St Georges hall to witness the Narnia experience. We did find it a little scary but we knew it was only a story and enjoyed our time there. We particularly loved walking through the wardrobe because it felt magical.
Come and See
Thank you to all the parents who came along to our spelling and maths reasoning morning. The children had lots of fun spending time in school with their parents and showing them the different ways they enjoy learning.
Happy Christmas from year 2!
Year two Masterchef! We are a great help in the kitchen and we can all now make homemade chuntey from fresh ingredients. We love cooking!!
Year two took part in a national fundraiser in collaboration with Total Gymnastics in order to raise money for Children in Need. We had a range of jumping stations which children moved around and completed 30 seconds at in order to see how many jumps they could complete. It was hard work but we raised lots of money for a great cause. Well done!!
Mad Hair Day
This week in our gymnastics lesson we took part in a jumpathon for Children in Need by completing circuit stations and seeing how many jumps we could complete in 30 seconds. It was really hard work but we had lots of fun and it was all for a fantastic cause. We also had Mad Hair Day across the school in order to help raise more money. Well done everyone!!
There's A Hole In My Bucket
This week we listened to the song "There's a hole in my bucket" and as we have been learning all about materials this term in science we thought we could test some materials and find out which would be best to block the hole. We used plastic cups rather than buckets and tested paper, fabric, cotton wool and plastic. We found out that plastic was the best material to block the hole and stop any water from leaking.
