Welcome to Year 2! 

Online Learning

Hello Year 2! 

From Monday, we will be moving to online learning. We will be using Microsoft Teams, Purple Mash, Mathletics and Rising stars. Below you will find a timetable for the weeks learning that will be taking place. 

I will upload new lessons/activities for you to do each day. These will include spelling, reading, English, Maths and a range of foundation subjects. I have also set up a drop in session on Teams where you will be able to ask myself any questions that you may have about your online learning.  

I have also attached some extra information for parents/guardians about how to use Microsoft Teams.  Please don't worry- it might take us all a bit of time to get used to it at first! Our first week of learning will focus on revisiting and mastering skills that we have learnt in class so that we can explore and gain confidence when using Microsoft Teams. 

There are packs available for you to collect in school that will assist you with your online learning. The packs will also include a document with all of your logins details.

Welcome to Year 2

Welcome to the Year Two class page! My name is Miss Mc Ardle and I am the lucky Year Two Class Teacher. Please take the time to explore our class page and see just how fantastic Year Two are. A positive work ethos makes all the difference to your child's learning, so your support from home is welcomed and encouraged. Reading is a very important aspect of learning, so we actively encourage children to read every night. 

It is important that children are accessing online learning such as Purple Mash, Mathletics and Oxford Owl Reading. 

Year 2 are working incredibly hard and have settled very well into their new Year Group. 

Maths Party!

Year Two had lots of fun celebrating maths! We created maths party hats, played some maths games and listened to some songs. We really enjoy our counting in 2s song! 

Zones of Regulation

Year 2 have begun to look at the Zones of Regulation. The zones teach us about different emotions that we might experience. We have looked at the Green, Yellow, Blue and Red zones. We will to explore our emotions throughout Year 2. 

Place Value

We have been learning how to read and write numbers using numbers and words up to 100! We use our word mat to help us remember the spelling. 

No Matter What

Year 2 have been using actions and story maps to help them retell the story 'No Matter What'
