Reception

Welcome to Reception

In Reception, Miss Mchugh is the class teacher and our class is supported by our EYFS Teaching Assistant Miss Brennan.

We are so lucky to have a lovely big classroom, a great outdoor area for your children to explore and have fun!  

Our Reception children are such enthusiastic learners, and we are so proud of them!  They have done so well settling into school. The highlights of their school day include: making new friends; experiencing our lovely environment; learning new sounds in phonics; story time and getting active in our outdoor space!  

 

We will share our Reception journey with your throughout the year using our class page, as well as any useful information.

 

We look forward to having lots of of fun during the next term and getting to know each other through our first R.E topic 'All about Me'.

 

We have an open door policy and welcome you to talk to us about your child's journey or any concerns you may have.

Sports Day- We had lots of fun at sports day working together as a team.

Dinosaurs - ‘Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs.’

Digging for fossils. Dinosaur Stomp. Waiting for our egg to ‘hatch.’ We have a baby dinosaur.

Pen Disco!

We enjoyed developing our fine motor skills during Pen disco. It was lots of fun.

Spring 1 Handa's Surprise!

We have njoyed reading the story of Handa's surprise. We have tasted lots of different fruits from the story! We enjoyed exploring the fruits and creating our own menus. We have looked at African jewellery and made our own African bracelets.
