Holy Cross Catholic Primary School

'Living, Loving, Learning Together'

Catholic Life

At Holy Cross we do really live out our Mission statement 'A family living, loving and learning together through the light of Christ.' Christ is truly at the heart of everything we do in our school. Our pupils actively participate in a variety of groups to show our respect and care for one another. They extend our care to the needy through prayer and charitable service.

Year 6 took part in Dunelm's Delivering Christmas Joy. They selected 6 tags from the tree and researched how much it would costs to buy the gifts requested. The groups then made posters to advertise their fundraising in assembly. They managed to raise enough money to buy the gifts needed and a selection box for each child.

Well done Year 6!

50/50 Challenge

Our Year 5/6 children regularly take part in the 50/50 challenge. This allows them to think of ways to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Foundation.

Whitechapel Donations

In return for wearing their own clothes pupils brought in £1. £122 was raised and with this we managed to buy; 2 pairs of trainers, 10 hats, 2 thermal hats, 20 pairs of socks, 10 pairs of gloves, 18 pieces of underwear, 6 thermal undershirts, leggings, 2 sweatshirts, a hoodie, 5 toothbrushes, 2 lots of dog food and a dog water bottle.

All the items were donated to the Whitechapel Centre to help support them during the winter months.

Mary’s Meals

Mary’s Meals is a movement that will not accept that a child should go hungry in the world of plenty. They serve nutritious meals in some of the world’s poorest countries. They provide school meals, meeting the needs of hungry children whilst encouraging them to gain an education. We will be collecting pennies to pay for these meals, 8p feeds a child each day.
