'Living, Loving, Learning Together'

Year 1

Online Learning

Hello Year 1!

From Monday, we will start using Microsoft Teams, Purple Mash and Mathletics for your online learning.  Below you will find a timetable for the weeks learning that will be taking place. On the timetable, you will also notice that I have included the app that you need to use to access the learning for that specific session.

New lessons/activities for you to do each day. Drop in sessions will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You will be invited on teams to your group's day.

Extra information is attached for parents/guardians about how to use Microsoft Teams.

Please don't worry- it might take us all a bit of time to get used to it at first!

There are packs available for you to collect in school that may assist you with your online learning. The packs will also include a document with all of your logins details.

Keep up the hard work Year 1.

Class Page

I am Miss Crute, the Year 1 class teacher, we are supported in our learning by Miss Randa. The children are all settling into Year One well and working hard! You can also head over to our 'Curriculum' page to see more about what we are learning this year!

Reading is a very important aspect of learning, so we actively encourage children to read every night.  A positive work ethos makes all the difference to your child's learning, so your support from home is welcomed and encouraged.

Every Friday homework will be set on Purple Mash and Mathletics and is to be handed in on the following Wednesday. The homework is to review what the children have learnt during the week and help to consolidate their learning. The children will also be given HFW spellings to learn each term.

Your child will be sent home with their log ins for Mathletics, Purple Mash and Spelling Shed, these are fun and interactive ways for the children to continually practise their learning, homework may also be set on these.

Should you find yourself self-isolating at home, please visit our school closure page for activities you can do to continue your child's learning.

PE - Dance

Our theme for dance this half term is travelling. We have been exploring the different ways in which we can travel.

Looking at our key vocabulary; stillness, gallop, spring, spin, statue, direction, space, near, far, strong, gentle.

HFW Spelling

This half term's spellings:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Year one have been working hard learning the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We have created a story map and actions to help us remember. This has allowed the children to write labels, lists and captions based on the story. Next, the children will sequence and retell the story.
