'Living, Loving, Learning Together'
Welcome back- we hope you all had a wonderful summer break!
A reminder about information Parents/Guardians need to know
Breakfast Club begins at 7.45am and is £1 per day. If your child is not attending breakfast club please wait outside the main gate and a member of staff will open and allow children in at 8.40am.
Please ensure your child is not late for school as this disrupts their own learning as well as their class mates. If your child is late they must enter through the school office.
No pupils should be collected early from school unless they have an appointment which cannot be arranged outside of school time. If your child does have an appointment please forward their appointment card/text to k.flanagan@holycrossprimaryschool.co.uk or show a member of the office staff. Children should be collected from their class door at 3.15pm, if you are running late please call the school office. If a different adult is collecting your child please ensure you let the school office know in advance.
Our school uniform can be purchased from Trutex on London Road. All pupils MUST wear full school uniform except for the days they have PE. When your child has PE they can come into school wearing their PE kit. Please ensure your child’s clothing has their name clearly labelled so we can return it to you if misplaced.

A PE kit can be purchased for £13 from the school office. Pupils are required to bring their book bag into school with them everyday, this can be purchased at the office for £7. Only cash is accepted in the school office. School meals are £9 per week for children in Year 3-6 and free for children in Nursery to Year 2. If needed, we can set you up an online payment account to pay for meals.
Pupils do not need to bring anything into school with them except for their Book Bag. Backpacks should not be brought into school as we do not have the space to store them. Lunch, snack and water will be provided to children throughout the day. If your child is celebrating a birthday please do not send a birthday cake into school as we do not have staff available to cut the cake. Cupcakes and party bags are allowed as they can be handed out to children at the end of the day.
Free School Meals
It is important to apply for free school meals if you think your child may be eligible. You can apply online here https://www.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/sims . Even if you have already completed a free school meal application- please apply using the link above as this software will automatically check your eligibility on a weekly basis incase your circumstances change.
Walking home alone
Pupils in Year 5 & 6 are permitted to walk home alone- if you would like your child to do this please collect a permission form from the school office. If your child is walking home alone, they are able to bring a mobile phone to school but this must be kept in the school office during the school day.
Reading books
Pupils are provided with a reading book to bring home which is changed regularly. Parents are asked to read with their child at home and sign their reading record. We have invested in new reading books therefore if they are lost or damaged there will be a charge.
Food Pantry
Families are invited to sign up for a Food Pantry in Marybone Youth Centre, Addison Street, L3 2BE. The pantry is open every Monday 1-4pm and allows you to buy 10 items for £3.50 or 15 items for £5. Items include meats, fresh fruit and veg, tinned food, toiletries etc.
