An Inland Waterways Spectacular!

The Eldonian Village Canal Festival, Liverpool

11th - 12th June 2016

This Festival will be an amazing day out for all the family.

  • Live music including folk, country and brass bands
  • Dancing by local dance troupes,
  • Children's fun activities,
  • Free trip boat
  • Face painting
  • Craft stalls
  • Historic craft to visit

The canalside at Eldonian village will be alive with boats - all decorated with bunting and flowers - making a great picture.  There will also be "Shrek" - a delightful boat horse - visiting with his owner who will be delighted to talk to visitors about how a working boat was towed along the waterways, delivering all kinds of cargoes.

This event is IWA's 2016 National Campaign Festival and organisers aim to increase leisure activities on a relatively underused part of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal as well as promote the event in celebration of the bi-centenary of the canal.

Liverpool City Council will also be organising some of the land based entertainment and concessions.
