Holy Cross School Feast Days

At Holy Cross Catholic Primary school, we celebrate a number of special feast days throughout the year to honour the lives of Jesus, Mary and the saints who inspire us to live with faith, courage and love. These days are important moments in our school calendar when we gather as a community for prayer, liturgy, learning and celebration.

These feast days help us grow in faith and connect more deeply with the wider Church, as we learn to follow Christ in our daily lives.

Here are the feast days we mark each year:

  • Exaltation of the Cross – 14th September
We reflect on the power of the Cross as a symbol of Christ’s love, sacrifice, and victory over sin and death.

  • Feast of St Mary Immaculate – 8th December
We honour Mary, chosen by God and kept free from sin, as a model of faith, obedience, and purity. This is a special day of prayer and devotion to our Blessed Mother.

  • Feast of St Anthony of Egypt – 17th January
Known as the father of monasticism, St Anthony teaches us the importance of prayer, simplicity, and trusting in God.

  • Feast of St Patrick – 17th March
We celebrate the missionary work of St Patrick, who brought Christianity to Ireland, and we reflect on the call to share our faith joyfully with others.

  • Feast of St Eugene de Mazenod – 21st May
The founder of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, St Eugene dedicated his life to serving the poor and spreading the Gospel. His example inspires us to love and serve others.

Feast of Saints Peter and Paul – 29th June
We honour two great apostles who helped build the early Church. Their courage, faith, and leadership continue to guide Christians around the world today.
