Year 5 have been learning about the O Antiphons which are prayers said by Christians to reflect on the significance of Jesus and his coming at Christmas. They have also been exploring how the O Antiphons are expressed in art and music around the world and during their Messy Family and Friends time, they created their own expressions of the O Antiphons in art form. They also created their own Christingle oranges to represent the story of Jesus's birth as the light of the world. The children learnt that this symbol links to Advent and the coming of Emmanuel ("God with us") by visually representing how Jesus brings light into a dark world and acts as a beacon of hope.
