We believe that outdoor learning is a vital part of your child’s development. Our Reception children have daily opportunities to explore our outdoor classroom, where they can engage in hands-on activities that build curiosity, independence, and confidence. From planting and caring for our garden to exploring natural materials and observing seasonal changes, children develop their understanding of the world around them while also improving their physical skills. Outdoor learning supports creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction, allowing children to learn through play in a safe and stimulating environment.
Pirates!
Today the children loved making their own pirate treasure maps! They took their maps outside to hunt for buried treasure, practising skills like following directions, problem-solving, and working together. They also used their hands to draw and mark their maps, which helped their fine motor skills, and shared ideas with their friends, building communication and teamwork. The children showed curiosity, creativity, and perseverance as they explored and played, learning about the world around them and developing confidence and independence along the way.
