'Living, Loving, Learning Together'

Class 5

Welcome to Class 5!

Welcome back and a very warm welcome to our new Class 5, which this year is Y5 and Y6.
It is an important year for all the children.
We have all settled in quickly and  back into working extremely hard. In October, some of the class will be involved in a production of 'Macbeth' in front of a live audience at a theatre in Liverpool- look out for the posters!

During the year we will be posting photographs of the children and their work on the class page, so everyone can share in celebrating their hard work.

This year as a school we are having a special focus on 'Reading for Pleasure' . As a class we are listening to Silverfin' by Charlie Higson. The story of the young James Bond.

We are really encouraging the children to Reading for Pleasure by bringing in their own books for a class 'book swap' also, we have a special slot in the timetable which allows everyone( including the teachers!) to read for 10 minutes+.
If you have any books you read at home that you would like to recommend to anyone else in class, put it on the Reading for Pleasure ' wall. During the year we will be having other activities to celebrate our love of reading.

This year Miss Maltz will be teaching Literacy to Class 4 and 5 and I will be teaching Numeracy to both classes. Mrs Kavanagh will be teaching Class 5 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

One final reminder - PE is now on Monday afternoon!
