Class 2
Welcome to Class 2!
Welcome to Class 2! We are a year one and two class, having lots of fun through child-led learning. Our teachers are Miss Bedson, Miss Brennan and Miss Muldoon.
We always work hard to do our best and we are becoming fantastic, independent learners. We are lucky enough to have two learning areas, where we can learn through play based experiences as well as through a more formal style classroom, where the teaching meets all of our learning needs. We know how important it is to look after one another and so we all try our best to make sure that everyone in our class is happy and safe.
This term- Class 2: Out of This World
Over the summer term, we have been learning abour Space as part of our creative curriculum. We have looked at all the different planets aswell as the sun, moon and Pluto. We have used the Ipads to research the different planets and can tell you all about our favorite planet. We have also learnt al about NASA, astronaughts and Neil Armstrong. This topic has allowed to us to learn through DT, art, music and drama.
This year we have learnt about?
This term We have really enjoyed developing our Science knowledge in this topic, learning about plants, our bodies, mammals and life cycles. We are currently holding a broardbean plant competition, how tall and leafy can you get your plant? We have brought our topic into all curriculum areas including English through reading the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, thinking about adjectives and settings and using our imagination to create our own stories.
Last term we learnt all about 'Helpful Heroes' as part of our creative curriculum. We learnt lots about people in our community who help us every day and make our lives better. As well as looking at modern superheroes we found out about real-life heroes of the past.We were very lucky to have guest visitors come into our school. These visitors included; The fire brigade, The police and a Paramedic.
